The Andes are the largest continental mountain range in the world. They are located on the western coast of South America. Im particularly interested in the rock formation because this summer i will be traveling to La Florida, Peru; a village filled with immigrants who trek down from the Andes looking for work. The Andes acquired their modern shape by the uplifting and folding of Metamorphic (top right) and Sedimentary Rock (bottom right).
